Jason Jobes  (Director)

MSc B.Eng (Hons), CEng, MCIBSE

Jason began his career in Building Services in 1995, where he undertook a Modern Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering with a Consultancy based in Newcastle. On completion of his Apprenticeship and the attainment of a National Certificate in Electrical Engineering from Newcastle College, Jason attended Northumbria University on a full time basis, where he gained a BEng (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering in 2001.

Following progression to Senior Engineer at a multi-national multi-disciplinary consultancy, Jason joined TGA Consulting Engineers in 2005.

Working on a wide range of projects, including a research & development facility for pharmaceutical organisation sanofi-aventis, and a new build Sports Centre for Durham University, Jason quickly progressed to the level of Associate.

Jason gained Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council and full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) in 2008. This followed his attainment of a Master’s Degree in Building Services Engineering Management from Heriot Watt University.

Jason has fulfilled the role of Lead Electrical Engineer and Project Leader on a number of major projects including the redevelopment of Newburn Riverside, which included 12 industrial units and 2 Category A Speculative Office buildings. Further projects where Jason honed his skills as an engineer and TGA team leader include Park Royal FC200 office development and the Hammersmith Business Park Development in London, the £330m Maxim Park Development in Glasgow and the £33m community and civic development for Redcar Borough Council.

Following sustained development Jason was promoted to a Director of TGA in 2011.

One of Jason’s areas of particular interest has been the development of 3D design and modelling, including monitoring very closely the growth of Building Information Modelling. As TGA’s BIM Lead, Jason has been responsible for the internal development of 3D design / modelling.

With experience on numerous BIM projects (of varying degrees of maturity) and also general 3D coordination projects using Revit design suite, alongside a genuine commitment to challenge current thinking, TGA are a major force when it comes to MEP design services. To be able demonstrate the level of commitment and expertise, TGA are undertaking a 4 Stage accreditation process with UKAS, which will demonstrate TGA’s capability in terms of PAS 1192 and PAS 91 compliance and will be achieved in 2016.

Jason is based in the North, spending time in both the Durham and Newcastle offices.
