TGA Consulting Engineers Overview

TGA Consulting Engineers is an expert provider of professional design and advice in the fields of Building Services and Building Sciences, and has done so over fifty years. With offices in Durham, Stevenage, London and Newcastle TGA services clients nationally with highly qualified and capable teams and individuals.

Service provision is not restricted to a particular building type nor to a particular type of client, instead we relish a challenge and aim to be at the forefront of engineering services design and philosophy. TGA’s success is borne from its ability to adapt in a continually changing environment, staying abreast of the latest technology, legislation and of course by maintaining close client relationships.

Our engineers strive to understand our client’s needs and expectations, and to create environments for improved performance, comfort, control and efficiency.

As a wholly owned private partnership, each partner is actively involved in each project, and is directly accessible to clients. TGA employs approximately 50 staff that are all directly involved in the delivery of building services consultancy.

TGA has many specialisms and is proud of its experience in the refurbishment of historic and listed properties. TGA has a national reputation in the historic building sector and has recently completed, or is currently involved in, projects at Iona Abbey for Historic Scotland, Durham Cathedral, Durham Castle and Hexham Abbey amongst others. We have completed more than 250 projects at the British Museum over the last 20 years. TGA has a wealth of experience in designing complex installations within listed buildings to provide not only comport but also artefact preservation.

To compliment this technical expertise TGA is also currently involved in a range of regeneration projects to provide additional homes on both new and existing sites, including those for Westminster, Camden and Islington councils.

TGA offers a comprehensive range of building sciences services including thermal modelling and computational fluid dynamics. TGA provide consultancy services on projects with an average construction value of £0.25m to £9m, but undertake a wide range of instructions from modest values up to £100m.
