Snape Maltings

A full low and zero carbon analysis were undertaken and central biomass plant was selected as not only the most suitable form of energy generation but also the most viable from a carbon perspective. To further reinforce the commitment to sustainable development solar photovoltaics were incorporated into renovated roof structures and rainwater harvesting was employed.

A central energy centre was constructed and from this point new heating and water services were distributed across the site. Narrow cobbled streets, below ground obstructions and existing footings were all problems that were overcome by the technical design team.

All units on the site benefit from local heat interface units that deliver heating, hot and cold water services that were all metered via a site wide BMS system.
