Tennant Street Health Centre, Stockton
We are recently completed two such Health Centres one in Wheatley Hill, Durham and the second in Stockton.
The Stockton Health Centre was partially new build and partially a refurbishment of the existing building. This project included similar facilities to those described above, with the addition of a pharmacy.
This £1.4m project was designed to achieve BREEAM Very Good and achieved 10% renewable energy through a combination of photovoltaics and an air source heat pump which serves underfloor heating systems in the new build area. The BREEAM scoring on this building has also lead to the exclusion of all refrigerants from the project.
This project was also completed in 2014.
Elsewhere, TGA have completed Health Centre projects at Monkwearmouth, Silksworth, Ryhope, Houghton-le-Spring, Felling, Boker Lane, Spennymoor, Low Fell and Southwick, for a range of Trusts.
Elsewhere TGA designed the M&E services for a five storey mixed use development within Barking Town Centre which included a large family health clinic and 22 residential apartments for Southern Housing Group.
Planning conditions dictated that 20% of the site heating needs would be generated through renewable energy sources. In order to meet this target, a biomass boiler system with back up gas fired boilers was designed and installed – a considerable feat for a town centre location.
TGA also provided compliance services for the building that included Part L calculations and dynamic thermal modeling of the building to assess overheating risks.
