TGA design net-zero carbon retirement village in Chester

Building Performance

TGA Consulting Engineers and TGA Building Performance have been working closely with architect’s RCKa to optimise the design to ensure the net zero carbon in operation target, as well as daylight and thermal comfort targets, set by the projects sustainability consultant were achieved. This resulted in near Passive House levels of building fabric performance, an ambient loop district heating system providing space heating and hot water, and a PV array sized to match the commercial base demand for electricity for Retirement Villages Group’s proposed new development at Chester.
