Russell joined TGA in 2022 as a Technical Director and lead for the Leeds office. He has vast experience in the delivery of building services, energy strategies and low carbon master planning across a wide range of sectors.

His passion is to drive down the energy and carbon production of buildings, incorporating sustainable and low carbon technologies whilst providing environmental solutions that are low-tech, simple to operate and that provide good thermal comfort and conditions to live, work and play.

He has over 20 years of experience in consultancy engineering and became a Chartered Engineer in 2010. Over the course of his career Russell has worked across a wide range of sectors including defence, healthcare, higher education, secondary education, leisure, retail, commercial and energy masterplanning.

Following the completion of his Masters degree in Architecture and Environmental Design at the University of Nottingham, Russell began his career as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in 2004.

He joins us from Tetra Tech where he held the position of Director and M&E lead for the Leeds office. During his time there he worked on UK and international projects at various stages of design and construction across a range of sectors. Russell is able to draw from this experience and advise the client at the early assessment stages of the potential benefits, opportunities and restraints of potential design solutions.

To enhance his knowledge and expertise, Russell undertook the CIBSE accredited Low Carbon Consultant Design Training course in 2020.

Outside of work Russell likes to keep fit, whether that be by going to the gym or for a long walk – preferably by the coast. He also enjoys watching sports with his son and taking him to football practice.
