TGA Consulting Engineers have been engaged by Raby Estate to work as part of a team led by Donald Insall Associates on a major project to renovate and improve buildings within the Castle Park and Gardens in order to support growing numbers of visitors who are coming to the 14th Century Castle and it’s surrounding 200 acres of gardens and deer park.

TGA were appointed as part of a wider design team to provide Conservation Building Services and Specialist Lighting design for this major redevelopment and refurbishment at St Nicholas Cathedral.

The Holy Trinity Regeneration project reconnects the city with its past by transforming Holy Trinity into a cultural and heritage venue that brings the stories of the church and Old Sunderland to life. The £4.3million project officially opened to the public in Autumn 2021. A lot of highly-skilled work went into the restoration which was led by The Churches Conservation Trust.

During the construction of the Learning and Teaching Centre (LTC) TGA were engaged to complete the Construction, design and installation information on behalf the M&E contractor. Their involvement from an early stage enabled the building model to be developed with actual manufacturers information, which provided detailed installation information.

The flexible approach delivered by TGA enabled builders work holes in structural elements to be detailed very early in the programme, which had cost and programme benefits.

A Level 2 BIM model was required for the project, with TGA being very proactive in developing this and guided the site team and other team members with the delivery of their respective elements.

TGA helped to provide a very technically demanding building successfully, which incorporated complex MEP, Architectural and Structural co-ordination.
