TGA Consulting Engineers LLP are employed as part of the Clients professional team to develop RIBA Stage 3 design information for Planning submission for this regeneration scheme across two estates.
Project Summary
The two sites are at the junction of Roxwell Road and Stebbing Way, Barking, and at the corner of Oxlow Lane and Rainham Road North, Dagenham.
The project will look to demolish existing local authority housing that is no longer fit for purpose and replace with 140 affordable new homes.
The project forms part of the council’s plan to improve the quality, diversity and environmental standards of housing in the area whilst ensuring that 50,000 new homes are built, and 20,000 new jobs are created in the next 20 years.
Currently in the design development stages of the project, design activities have been based around supporting the Planning Submission including: –
- Energy Strategy
- Thermal Comfort Report
- Utilities Investigations
- Space planning
- Client and Community engagement
The project is currently designed to have thermal energy delivery for each development by Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) and include photovoltaic arrays for electrical energy generation.
Compliance with the London Plan will be achieved as well as a 35% reduction in carbon over Part L of the Building Regulation requirements (2013).
